1-1 Coaching

Mentoring and coaching can support individuals in a number of ways. This process begins with building a good rapport and a listening ear for the client. The focus of the sessions can then range from emotional support and regulation strategies- to targeted skill development- including behaviour intervention, social skill/relationship and friendship development as well as skills for managing academic life or life in general.

Social Skills

Social skills do not come easily for all. Barriers in the development of these skills can create barriers in everyday life. I have always had a strong desire to support individuals to develop social skills. One of my key area of passion and expertise is the development of all functional life skills that ultimately improve daily living and independence for the individual.

Parent Coach

Parent coaching is offered to support parents with challenges they may be facing. This can include and is not limited to advise around individual/student support, academic support, support for home life and support in navigating NDIS. This process supports the development of parental advocacy, a skill that is required and very importantly when a student is unable to advocate for themselves.

Testimonials

When my 19 year old son began to see Nadia he was very depressed, distant and completely unsociable.  He would not talk to us or his friends and we were extremely worried about his mental health. He had given up his dream of working within the disability sector and had resigned to going on a Disability allowance and doing nothing. He has APD, SPCD and severe anxiety. He had finished his Certificate 3 in Disability Support,  but due to COVID-19, was unable to finish his placement and get a job. Within the first 30 minutes of their initial appointment,  Nadia had him focussed and confident to continue with his goals, instead of giving up. Over their next few visits his whole attitude and mindset had changed and he was ready to take on the world. Nadia listens, understands, and has an amazing way of making him feel important and that he can achieve anything he puts his mind too. He is now employed as a Mentor in the Disability Sector and has grown in his maturity and ability to deal with issues that arise. I can't thank Nadia enough for the enormous improvement in my sons mental health, confidence and especially his communication skills.  It is wonderful to have my son back, we thought we had lost him for good. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a miracle worker.

Jenny, Mother of Client

The combination of Nadia’s joyful personality, unique giftings and wealth of experience is unparalleled. Over the years, Nadia has helped enhance my son’s social skills and is now assisting him to build connections in the community and engaging him with meaningful work experiences which he’s thoroughly enjoying. Nadia looks beyond disability, to focus on all the possibilities.

Cindy Claridge - Mother of Jack, 18 Years

I have known Nadia for over 10 years and was fortunate to work with her in a Special Education Unit within a mainstream College. Nadia was a fantastic mentor to myself and other staff members. Nadia is calm in her approach, knowledgeable, person centered, respectful and an excellent communicator. She is genuinely interested in supporting people with disabilities and their families and I would have no hesitation in recommending her to support anyone in need of her skills.

Louise, Former Colleague

Nadia was my teacher at school for five years. Nadia has taught me lots of things, that have helped me learn social skills and life skills. She is a bright and bubbly person and I often go to her for advice and she always helps me even though I know she is very busy with her own family. She is a good friend and mentor to me.

Shane, Previous Student / Client

Nadia gave me support and knowledge to better advocate for my daughter, and made a stressful situation much less overwhelming. I felt more in control with her guidance and support. I would recommend Nadia to any parent that needs help with navigating services available for children or teens with a disability.

Nicole, Mother of Client

Nadia is not bad, not ok- but good. She is working her way up to being great and excellent. She is kind
